Bachelor Degrees
The psychology program at Western New Mexico University prepares students for a variety of career paths. Students who graduate with a bachelor degree in psychology may pursue graduate school or further training to become specialized in areas such as career or vocational counselor, school psychologist, professional counselor or therapist, forensic psychologist, sports psychologist, clinical Psychology, special education teacher, case manager, probation officer, and coach.

Graduate Concentration
The Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is a unique degree program that allows students to study in multiple disciplines and see the interconnectedness of those disciplines. Students are required to complete a minimum of 36 credit hours in either two or three fields of study. Students work closely with a faculty advisor in each field of study. Courses are delivered asynchronously online, and psychology is available as one of the concentration options.

Graduate Certificates
The graduate certificates offer an 18-hour online program that expands students’ knowledge in a particular area. According to the New Mexico Higher Learning Council (HLC, 2020), “if a faculty member holds a master’s degree or higher in a discipline or subfield other than that in which he or she is teaching, that faculty member should have completed a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in the discipline or subfield in which they teach” (p.3).
